Chadwick Boseman Will Be A Hero For The Ages At MTV Movie & TV Awards

On Friday, it was announced that Don Cheadle and Robert Downey Jr. will pay tribute to their late Marvel co-star with the honour of Hero for the Ages during this year’s MTV Movie & TV Awards – Best of All Time. The award is given to a person “whose heroism on screen was second only to the true hero who was off the screen.”

Presented by Vanessa Hudgens, the MTV Movie & TV Awards: Greatest of All Time premieres Sunday, December 6th and in addition to Boseman, will honor the greatest and best moments in film and television from the 80’s. until now.

The Black Panther actor will also be recognized at the IFP Gotham Awards 2021 with a tribute to the posthumous actor along with his Ma Rainey’s black ass co-star, Viola Davis.

“Chadwick Boseman was an incredibly talented actor whose meaning and impact on screen and goodness off screen will never be forgotten,” said Jeffrey Sharp, IFP CEO. “We at IFP will always be indebted to him for all of his contributions to our organization, his legacy of mentoring, and we are proud to honor him and all of his historic and innovative contributions with this tribute.”

The 30th anniversary of the IFP Gotham Awards ceremony will take place on Monday, January 11th, 2021. The ceremony will be presented live from Cipriani Wall Street New York in a hybrid format with interactive virtual tables to follow health protocols and security brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Boseman died on August 28th after a years-long secret battle with cancer. He was 43 years old. November 29th would have been his 44th birthday and several of his former co-stars and friends paid tribute to him.
