Officers of the San Fernando CID, Homicide Bureau Region III and police from the Southern Division are collectively searching for evidence and believe footage from CCTV can help solve the murder of 74-year-old Deokie Meera Mongroo.
Mongroo was found at her Papourie Road, Diamond Village home on Wednesday with a tie-strap around her neck.
Up to Wednesday evening, the killer remained at large.
Her body was found around midmorning yesterday by her husband, who had just returned home from running errands.
Mongroo was the grandmother of four and mother of two adult children who live abroad.
