Opposition MP, Arnold Ram is planning to launch a counselling programme for his Caroni Central Constituency.
In a post to facebook, Mr Ram said “It is saddening to see that within a few days of the last reported incident, yet another domestic dispute has resulted in the critical condition of a woman- Ms. Jada Pierre.
Ms. Pierre, a 22-year-old Geriatric Nurse is currently warded in San Fernando General Hospital after being beaten with a hammer by her ex-boyfriend.
Mr Ram said that “On February 9th, 2021, I initially had plans of launching a Counselling Program through the Caroni Central Constituency Office that focused on Confidential Child & Youth Counselling and Domestic Violence Counselling. However, I may seek to expedite the planning process to facilitate the use of this service sooner.
“Conversations and Planning have already begun between myself, my Communications & External Relations Officer and Qualified, Certified Counsellors. This week, we will engage our Constituency Executive’s Women’s Affairs Officer as we chart our way forward.”
“We invite all persons within The Caroni Central Constituency who may require use of this service to send us a message or contact 713-2167. Your information remains confidential and we will then assign you to a qualified Counsellor.
Mr Ram is also inviting persons certified in this field and wish to give of their time and energy, to reach out to him on the above contact number, as well.
