Veteran journalist Vaughn Martin is urging people in the Caribbean to closely monitor the upcoming elections in the United States.
Speaking on the Facing the Issues Programme on Power 102fm this afternoon, Mr Martin said the US elections hold tremendous significance to the region.
Mr Martin said it is vital the region develops meaningful ways to survive these serious times.
Mr Martin said the issue of race relations will continue to be an area of interests and he advised ways must be found to treat with it in a mature and professional way to address it.
Meanwhile, freelance journalist and Guyanese born Felecia Persaud, who was also on the programme, highlighted the importance of people who are eligible to vote in the US elections doing so.
