Caribbean Supermarket Association To Host Formal Inauguration

The formal inauguration of the Caribbean Supermarket Association will take place on Tuesday, in Marabella.

The objectives of the Association are to sustain and preserve the state of regional food security.

In a media release on Monday, the association cited challenges faced by nations within the Caribbean in relation to supply chain disruptions, the cost of shipping, the increasing cost of inputs of production.

It said given that nations within CARICOM have committed to improving the landscape of agriculture within the region, it is imperative within the retail private sector to support the thrust that has created a framework for the CSA to operate.

This was formally ratified by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the CARICOM Private Sector Organization, on August 19th  2022 at the recently concluded Investment Forum, at the National Academy of Performing Arts, to recognize the significance of supporting sustainable efforts towards food security.
