Car crash claims life of Erin mother on her birthday; daughter among 2 others injured

A 52-year-old woman lost her life on her birthday, following an accident last night in Buenos Ayres.

Sacha Richardson of Los Eros Road, Erin, along with her 21-year-old daughter Sachell and a 50-year-old Point Fortin woman, identified as Margaret Ramjitsingh, were occupants of a white Toyota Fielder wagon driven by Richardson’s husband Curtis Richardson.

They were traveling along the Buenos Ayres Main Road around 6.30 pm, when the wagon allegedly spun out of control along the wet road and crashed into the front of a Nissan Serena traveling on the opposite lane.

The three women were thrown from the vehicle before it came to a stop on a precipice about 20 feet from the roadway.

Richardson was pronounced dead at the scene while her daughter and Ramjitsingh were taken to the Point Fortin Hospital.

No word was given on the status of the two drivers.

Police are continuing enquiries.
