Cancer Society & RBL join forces for all-star charity cricket match

A team of top cricketers will come together at Skinner Park in San Fernando on August 10 2024, for an awareness event called Batting Against Cancer.

It is part of the Relay for Life initiative from the T&T Cancer Society and is being held in collaboration with Republic Bank.

At a media launch held Thursday, Cancer Society Chairman Robert Dumas said the event will help raise awareness, since this disease has such a wide ranging impact.

He said it will also help foster a sense of unity and show support for those who are fighting, those who have fought, and those who have lost loved ones to this devastating disease.

On the day, two teams consisting of select players from local cricket clubs will face off in a 10 over match.

The winner will then play a 10 over match against an All-Star team led by Rayad Emrit and Anisa Mohammed.

Other players to feature include Khary Pierre, Britney Cooper, Lendl Simmons, Terrence Hinds, Imran Khan, Caneisha Isaac, Lee-Ann Kirby and Kjorn Ottley.

In addition to the cricket action, persons attending the match will be able to access information to help raise awareness of cancer, and learn more about the Cancer Society’s work.

Tickets are $100 for adults and $60 for children.
