Calypsonian Kenny J dies due to Covid-19

On the heels of the news of the passing of the Mighty Bomber, now comes word that Kenny J has died.

Kenny J, who was born Kenwrick Joseph, passed away this morning, while being treated in ICU of the Augustus Long Hospital for COVID-19. He had been warded for a few days.

Kenny J was involved in a “Get Vaccinated” campaign led by promoter, Randy Glasgow. However, we do not know if he was fully vaccinated.

Kenny J was popularly known for his soca-parang hits “Alexander” and “The Paint Brush.”

He was 69 years old.
