Call Made For Curriculum Review By Opposition Government Reveals Measures To Improve The System

The Opposition is suggesting there be a review of the curriculum to be better able to meet the needs of the labour market.

Tabaquite Member of Parliament, Anita Haynes, explains there is need for a model which not only helps students improve academically but helps in areas such as critical thinking and conflict resolution.

She was at the time delivering a motion on what can be done to improve the system.

Meanwhile in response, Education Minister, Dr Nyan Gabsby Dolly, says there is a move to introduce mandatory activities which will help students develop certain qualities, values and attitudes.

She said the aim is to ensure a holistic approach which will ensure a detailed outlook on affairs.

Dr Gabsby Dolly said supervision of the nation’s children and the collection of data which will help develop a more discipline work force moving forward is happening .

It was revealed there are several divisions in the Education system which  use data  collected to make appropiate interventions and policies .
