A fire broke out in the engine room of the Cabo Star vessel this morning.
The Trinidad and Tobago Inter-Island Transport Service confirmed in a release that “an incident occurred on the vessel this morning.” They also stated that an investigation has been launched, and today’s sailing had to be cancelled.
Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago Chairman Lyle Alexander, said the fire was quickly brought under control.
He added that based on the investigation’s findings, the ship’s crew will inform the Port Authority when the vessel can resume service.
