Cabinet sub-committee finalizing lease for cricket academy by Reliance Industries

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has announced that a cabinet sub-committee is dealing with the finalization of a lease for 30 acres of land for the establishment of a cricket academy by Reliance Industries.

Rowley made the announcement on Sunday, following his return from a trip to India.

He visited the country on the invitation of a the Ambani family, which owns Reliance Industries.

Dr Rowley says the cost for the academy will be determined, with an architect visiting several weeks ago.

He add that while labour will come from T&T, the technical work will be done by Indians.

He also thanked Kieron Pollard and Dinanath Ramnarine, who he said helped to open the way for the government.
