Brazil’s COVID-19 Toll: 734 Deaths and 29,498 Cases

Brazil recorded a moving average of 497 deaths per day due to the covid-19 this Thursday, 15. The moving average records fluctuations in the last seven days and eliminates distortions between a high number of midweek and low weekend.

In the last 24 hours, 29,498 new cases and 734 new deaths were recorded. As a result, there are 5,170,996 people infected and 152,513 killed by coronavirus in Brazil since the beginning of the pandemic, according to data from the media consortium, formed by Estadao, G1, O Globo, Extra, Folha and UOL, and done in conjunction with the state health departments.

The Ministry of Health’s balance sheet indicates that 4,599,446 Brazilians have recovered from the disease and another 417,480 are being followed up.

The Ministry of Health, earlier, registered 713 new deaths due to Covid-19, which brings the total number of deaths from the disease in the country to 152,460. 28,523 new cases of coronavirus disease were also reported, the highest daily count in more than a week, with the total number of confirmed infections in the country reaching 5,169,386.

Brazil is the second country with the highest number of deaths from coronavirus in the world, behind only the United States, and the third in cases, below the USA and India.
