Body found in wardbrobe as officials tend to fire in Siparia

Police and fire officials were given a surprise, when they stumbled upon the body of a man while in the midst of tending to a fire in Siparia village on Saturday night.

According to reports, fire officers were dispatched to fight a blaze that consumed a wooden home at Sennon Village Extension around 9.40 pm.

Firefighters were able to control the blaze.

However, while police officers were doing checks on a neighbouring structure, which also suffered some fire damage, they discovered the body of 22-year-old Aries Archibald.

Officers said Archibald’s body was hanging out of a wardrobe in a small one-storey house less than ten feet away from the one that burnt. He had been shot in his head, neck and chest.

Archibald was known to police and was out on bail for several firearm-related offences.
