An autopsy is expected to be done at the Forensic Science Centre, St James, on Wednesday to determine the gender and identity of a burnt body, which was found in a vehicle in the St Joseph area on Monday night.
Around 10:30pm, St Joseph police received a troubled call that a Nissan Sylphy car was on fire at Farm Road Extension, near the WASA pump.
San Juan fire officials were immediately called to the scene and they extinguished the fire, only to discover a body in the back seat.
Investigators said the body was burnt beyond recognition and they could not determine the licence plate of the car or its owner.
St Joseph police and homicide investigators are continuing enquiries.
