Black Rock, Tobago, To Host Beach Volley Tournament at the Commonwealth Youth Games

Black Rock, Tobago is the new venue for the hosting of this year’s Beach Volley Tournament at the Commonwealth Youth Games Games in the sister isle.

The 7th edition of the Games  is set for August 4th to 11th in Trinidad and Tobago.

It will feature Swimming, Athletics and Para Athletics, Cycling, Triathlon, Netball, Rugby Sevens, and Beach Volleyball.

Pigeon Point Beach was initial indentified as the site for the event.

However, the Tobago House of Assembly said after extensive consultation with stakeholders it was decided to shift the event to Black Rock in the vicinity of the YMCA Pool.

Speaking at the weekly post executive news briefing , Chief Secretary of the THA, Farley Augustine, said this location is more suited for an event of this kind as at the former spot two million dollars would have had to be spent to set up a temporary facility.
