Three men of Cunapo, Southern Main Road, Biche, were charged with possession of cannabis yesterday. KUMAR JAWAHIR, 40, ZION FRANCIS, 21, and GOBARDHAN MADHOO, 52, were arrested after their vehicle was stopped and searched by police.
The search was conducted during a police exercise that took place between the hours of 12.30pm and 3 pm in the Biche district. Around 2.15pm, officers stopped a blue Ford Ranger at the 19-Mile Mark, Cunapo, Southern Road, Biche. A search was conducted and 296 grams of cannabis were allegedly found. The men were arrested and subsequently charged by PC Thom.
The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Aguilal, supervised by ASP Jankee, Sgt Mahabir, Ag Sgt Maharaj and included officers of the Biche Police Station, Rio Claro and Mayaro Criminal Investigations Departments (CID) and Task Force.
