Prime Minister of Belize, John Briceno, is calling for the blockade against Cuba to be lifted.
Mr Briceno said the time has come to build bonds of friendship with the people of Cuba.
Mr Briceno said Belize rejects the unilateral right of any country to impose exclusions.
The Belizean Prime Minister made the appeal in his speech to the ninth summit of the Americas this week.
Cuba the Belizean Prime Minister said has provided consistent, unmatched cooperation in health to almost two thirds of the countries in this hemisphere including Belize.
He said many Belizean doctors and healthcare professionals are trained in Cuba.
