A Beetham man is today nursing stab wounds which he received while being a good Samaritan.
The 42-year-old is in serious but stable condition after he tried to part a fight between his friend and his friend’s girlfriend on Saturday night.
The incident took place at around 8.30 pm, at a house on Phase Five, Beetham Gardens.
The victim attempted to intervene in the physical altercation between his male friend and the girlfriend, but was somehow stabbed in the back. It was unclear exactly who did the stabbing.
Residents heard the commotion and called the police.
When officers of the Inter Agency Task Force arrived at the scene, they found the man sitting at the side of the road with the knife still in his back.
He was rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he was treated.
The boyfriend and girlfriend are now missing and police are continuing investigations.
