BDU launches ‘Innovate’ the Business Plan Competition for Tobago

The Second Annual Business Development Unit Business Plan Competition was launched in Tobago and saw eight (8) community organizations pledging their participation.

The BDU this time around has partnered with the Department of Youth Affairs to execute this competition which is geared strictly towards groups.

Manager of the Business Development Unit, Shelly Ann Baptiste, at the launch explained that this competition was designed to challenge young minds to “Innovate”, where they will be charged with the task of either developing a new product or service or re-engineering an existing one in direct response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Administrator of the Division, Haynsley Trim, while bringing greetings urged all competitors to be cognizant of the current market. He added that the increase in the use of technology must be an integral component of the Business process going forward.

Keron Duke who is the owner of Tobago Media Concepts was present at the event and spoke to the participants, relaying his experience as an Entrepreneur. He encouraged the competitors to do their best but made it clear that success does not come without hard work.

Rotaract Club of Tobago
Purpose, the Band
RSS Phoenix Youth and Sports Club
Mt. St. George Police Youth Club
Roxborough Police Youth Club
Roxborough Police Youth Club

The deadline date for the Competition is Friday December 11, 2020.
