Bars expected to stay open late tonight as limers anticipate first night without curfew

With the end of the curfew and the SOE, many limers can expect to see their favourite watering hole open till the wee hours of the morning.

The confirmation comes from President of the Bar Owners Association, Satesh Moonasar.

Mr Moonasar told News Power Now that bar owners have been reaching out to the Association to clarify what they are and are not allowed to do regarding opening hours and any new stipulations which may be in place regarding the newly updated Public Health Regulations released yesterday.

Mr Moonasar said that bar owners will likely have to take an individual position regarding their opening hours but warned that regardless of what they decide to do, they must adhere to the health regulations

Asked if there was any concern with staying open late given the crime situation, Mr Moonasar told Power 102 Digital’s newsroom that crime has always been a concern, particularly at thias time of year.

He urged bar owners to put the necessary security measures in place to ensure their safety and that of their patrons.
