Barbados Royals suffered their first lost in the T20 Caribbean Premier League.
Despite the defeat the Royals are still at the top of the standings of 12 points.
Second place Jamaica Tallawahs prevented the Royals from securing their seventh straight win of the CPL at the Queen’s Park Oval, St Clair today.
Tallawahs won the game by six runs on the Duckworth Lewis method.
Batting first, Royals made 146 for 6 from 20 overs.
Quinton De Kock top scored with 74 runs.
The South African during his innings hit seven fours and three sixes.
Bowling for Royals, Imad Wasim, took 3 wickets for 14 runs from 3 overs.
In response a top score of 46 from Brandon King helped Tallawahs reach 126 for 5 from 17 overs.
Jason Holder 3 for 33 from 4 overs and Obed Mc Coy 2 for 19 were the key bowlers for Royals.
Meanwhile, Trinbago Knight Riders moved up from sixth position to fourth with a 26 run win against Guyana Amazon Warriors at the Queen’s Park Oval on Wednesday.
Warriors are now at the bottom of the standings.
Scores in the match, TKR 150 for 8 from 20 overs.
Colin Munro top scored with 42 runs.
Warriors in reply were restricted to 124 from 17 overs.
Player of the match, Sunil Narine, had 2 wickets for 9 runs from 4 overs.
Akeil Hosein and Andre Russell also had three wickets each.
