Barbados records 45 positive cases of Covid-19

At 7pm on 1st April, Acting Prime Minster, Honorable Santia Bradshaw address the nation of Barbados on the current status of the cases of Covid-19.

To date the following numbers have been logged:

Test – 382

Positive cases – 45

This represents a jump by 11 cases since Monday 30th when they recorded 34 positive cases. They recorded their first case on 16th March,2020.

With immediate effect all persons entering Barbados will be mandated to a 14 day quarantine in a government facility. From 3rd – 14th April non-essential staff will be mandated to stay at home.

Some of the measures being taken:

  • Restaurants – Only take-away services
  • No prison visitations
  • All beaches and parks will be closed
  • Bakeries open from 8am – 4pm
  • Gas Stations open from 7am – 5pm
  • Farms 5am – 5pm
  • Groceries 9am – 2pm

A full list will be published by their government agency. These measures are in an attempt to control the spread of the coronavirus in Barbados.
