Bar Owners say added measures in place as they aren’t trained to spot fake vaccination cards

Head of the Bar Owners Association, Satesh Moonasar, says bar owners have not been trained to identify fraudulent vaccination cards.

Speaking with Power 102 Digital this morning, he said bar owners have no way of telling if vaccination cards are fake or not and said therefore once the ID matches the card, patrons will be allowed entry.

He suggested however that there are some persons who do not fully understand the safe-zone concept and as such some establishments may be operating contra to the safezone requirements.

Mr Moonasar told Power 102 Digital however that there are additional measures in place such as mask wearing once moving around the establishments and fewer tables to ensure social distancing.

He also revealed that some bar owners are taking progressive steps by keeping records and pictures of regular clientele on file so as to minimize the hassle upon entry.
