Bandits rob 64-year-old man in supermarket car park

A 64-year-old man was beaten and robbed in a supermarket car park in Arima on Saturday night.

Reports state that at around 8:15pm last night, the victim was approached and accosted by two people, one of whom was armed with a firearm, while at the car park located just off the Churchill Roosevelt Highway.

The man was beaten and the suspects then robbed him of his phones and cash.
AT the time, the man was in possession of US$500 and TT$300.

The suspects then escaped in the victim’s RAV4.

The police were immediately notified and following a search, officers found the abandoned SUV at Pump Trace, Laventille an hour later.

Investigations are ongoing and the car is to be dusted for fingerprints.
