Bandits beat and rob three men injured in car accident

Bandits attacked three men moments after the vehicle they were in crashed along the Beetham Highway on Friday afternoon.

The men were travelling in a white Toyota Axio on the eastbound lane of the Beetham Highway around 12:10 pm, when the driver lost control of the car and crashed on a grassy area off the highway, just after the NP Gas Station.

The trio, who had only minor injuries following the accident, were then attacked by bandits.

The injured men were beaten and one victim was robbed of his gold chain.
One of the men was even stabbed during the attack.

The men flagged down a passing vehicle after the bandits fled the scene, and were taken to hospital.

Officers of the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) and the Port of Spain Task Force visited the scene and searched for the bandits but were unsuccessful.
