Baby of Venezuelan national found unresponsive; police probing death

The death of a four-month-old baby boy is now under investigation, after the child was found unresponsive at his Siparia home on Monday.

Reports state that the baby’s mother is a 25-year-old Venezuelan national, but he was in the care of his aunt at their apartment on Suekeran Trace, Saltmine Road, when he died.

The aunt told investigators that little Junior Jose Rojas Villarroel, was fed a bottle of formula around 3 pm and then laid down for a nap.

When the aunt woke up and checked on baby Junior between 4:30 pm and 5 pm, she discovered that he was not breathing and appeared unresponsive.

Emergency services were contacted.  However, attempts to resuscitate the baby were unsuccessful.
