An autopsy is expected on the man who was killed at his worksite in Trincity on Monday.
Reports indicate that 48-year-old Gregory Morales of Brazil Village, Arima was at the construction site of a building located opposite Superpharm in Trinicty with other workers.
A man entered the site and shot Morales once in the back of his head before he escaped.
Morales died at the scene.
Officers responded to the scene of the crime but were unable to get any information about the incident as onlookers refused to speak to them.
Morales was taken to the Port-of-Spain mortuary where his body is expected to be autopsied.
Police are continuing investigations.
