An autistic teen was found unresponsive in a neighbour’s pool in St Joseph yesterday morning.
Antonio Benjamin, 17, of Agostini Street, St Joseph, was found around 9am, lying face down in the pool.
He was extracted and rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope, where attempts to resuscitate him failed.
Police said that the boy was accustomed to bathing in the pool as the homeowner reported him trespassing on his property several times.
A post-mortem is expected to be performed later this week to determine his exact cause of death.
