Attorney, Martin George wants the gov’t to set up a Race Relations Council

Attorney, Martin George, is proposing to the government it give consideration to the setting up of a Race Relations Council.

The attorney made the suggestion during a voice note sent to NEWS POWER NOW this afternoon.

In the voice note the lawyer said a letter which was sent by the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago to his client, Dr Avinash Sawh, with respect to five complaints has been withdrawn.

Last year Dr Sawh apologized publicly following racists comments which were circulated on social media.

Attorney George gave his reasoning behind his recommendation for the Race Relations Board.

Meanwhile the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago issued a media release this morning – asking Dr. Sawh to submit a response to the claims made that he displayed racism towards patients.

The Medical Board said only after receiving a written response from Dr. Avinash Sawh then they will decide on a course of action.
