Attempted robbery in Morvant – one man shot, the other stabbed

Two men have been left injured following an attempted robbery in Morvant on Monday night.

Around 9pm, officers of the Port of Spain Task Force were notified of gunshots along L’Espinet Street, Morvant and on arrival, were told that there had been an attempted robbery of a taxi-driver and that the man had been shot and was conveyed to the Port of Spain General Hospital by residents.

Officers were then told of the direction in which the ‘shooter’ had fled and they found the suspect along Upper Pashley Street, Laventille, nursing a stab wound to the chest. He was also taken to Port of Spain General Hospital.
