According to several reports, a gunman broke into the home of one our Directors at the Gillette Group of Companies this afternoon, Tuesday 17th March, but was later shot by members of the TTPS.
Information coming to hand suggests that while his family was inside their Goodwood Park home, along with the housekeeper, the gunman held them at gunpoint for about 30 mins before taking away all their personal items.
However one family member was able to send a WhatsApp message to their family chat; at which point the TTPS was later notified about the robbery.
It was later reported that the victims were able to secure and lock themselves in a bedroom; when police officers responded and were instantly engaged in a gun battle with the bandit.
The unidentified man was then shot by a member of the TTPS.
“Our family remained safe. We would like to commend the police force who were on the scene within ten minutes of a phone call being placed to 999, says one family member who was held at gunpoint”.
