The Association of Trinidad and Tobago Insurance Companies is advising the general public of an increase in the number of reported incidents of fraudulent motor vehicle insurance certificates.
In a media release on Thursday, the Association said insurance should only be obtained from and payments made to companies and/or representatives approved by the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago.
It said when seeking to purchase motor insurance from a prospective representative i.e. an Agent or Salesperson, persons are cautioned to verify that such individuals are registered with CBTT as an intermediary.
