A 30-year-old Arouca man was shot dead near his home on Friday night.
Relatives of Kerwin Lewis said they heard gunshots sometime around 11.45 pm and called police.
Police said they arrived at the scene around 11.58 pm, and found Lewis’ body along a dirt road in an open piece of land used for farming, near to the location of Lewis’ Savannah Trace, Garden Village, Arouca home.
His body bore several gunshots.
Police recovered six 9 mm spent shells at the scene and one live round and believed he was murdered because he was suspected of tipping off the police to crime in the district.
