Arima Man charged with 2021 murder

A 39-year-old man is expected to appear before an Arima Magistrate today, charged with the murder of Kendell John, which occurred in November 2021.

BRENT DAVID CAMPBELL, of KP Lands, Arima, was charged with the offence, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on Sunday 26th June, 2022.

John, 32, a technician of La Retreat Road, Arima, was at his home on Sunday 21st November, 2021, when he allegedly went outside to speak to the driver of a vehicle. A gunman is then alleged to have exited the vehicle, approached the victim and shot him. The assailant then re-entered the vehicle which sped from the scene.

The accused surrendered to officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Two, on Thursday 23rd June, 2022.

Investigations were supervised by ASP Douglas, Insp. Ramjag, W/Insp. Sylvester, Insp. John and Sgt. Stanisclaus, all of the HBI Region Two.

Campbell was charged by WPC Mohammed, also of the HBI Region Two, on Sunday 26th June, 2022.
