Computer giant Apple became the first US company worth more than $ trillion on the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
The group was the first to pass a trillion dollars of market capitalization on Wall Street in 2018. Since then it has been followed by Amazon, Microsoft and Alphabet, the parent company of Google.
This is a doubling of value in just two years.
The group led by Tim Cook follows the Saudi oil giant Aramco, which in December 2019 became the first company in the world to exceed $ 2 trillion in market value. But Apple has since surpassed it.
The apple brand saw its results rise thanks to confinement due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In the second quarter, the iPhone maker had a turnover of more than $ 60 billion and made more than $ 11 billion in net profit.
Its stock has risen almost 60% since the beginning of the year.
Apple reached $2 trillion in market capitalization when its share price surpassed $467.77 on Wednesday. The group has just over 4,275 million shares.
