Anti-crime exercise conducted across all 10 Policing Divisions

 Officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service continue to conduct Anti-Crime exercises as part of their Christmas Anti-Crime Initiative to ensure citizens enjoy a safe and crime free Christmas.
In the Sangre Grande district between the hours of 6: 00pm and 10:00pm under the supervision of Sgt Bhim and Cpl Osouna and other members of the Eastern Division Task Force, arrested a 28-year-old labourer of North-eastern Settlement Sangre Grande for the offenses of Possession of Firearm, Possession of 9 rounds of 40 calibre Ammunition and Possession of a magazine.
Officers also conducted exercises in the Rio Claro district between the hours of 6pm and 10pm and paid special attention to business establishments and proprietors.
Officers engaged residents and reminded them of some safety tips that can be practiced during this season, ensuring safety and security amongst citizens.
In Central Division around 2:00pm yesterday CID officers whilst on mobile patrol along the Chaguanas main road, received information relative to a store breaking and larceny on Tuesday November 8th 2022.
The stolen items were being sold along the same road, the items were positively identified by the owner and a 24-year-old suspect is now assisting police with investigation.
Also in Central Division relative to a report of wounding which occurred around 12:20 am on 20 December, 2022.
Officers under the coordination of Senior Superintendent Michael Pierre, Inspector Bisnath, Inspector Sylvan, with supervision by Sgt Howard and support from detectives attached to the Cunupia CID, conducted extensive investigations and arrested four more persons for murder.
In the Northern division officers during exercises in Maloney district, between 7pm to 10pm, two road blocks were conducted at Jacana Avenue in the vicinity of Building 6 and along Piarco Old Road. Nothing illegal was found.
Around 9:40pm officers assisted in a report of a Robbery of a vehicle at gun point along Arima Old Road. A co-ordinated effort was initiated, where the Maloney Unit along with other units from the Northern Division intercepted the vehicle in the Pinto District. Four persons were arrested and a Beretta firearm and ammunition recovered.
In addition, an intelligence led exercise resulted in one Sub Machine Gun fitted with a Magazine containing seven rounds of 9mm ammunition was recovered.
Further as a result of information received officers of the North Eastern Division went to an abandoned structure on Valley Road, Upper 6th Avenue Malick where a search was conducted and a black plastic bag buried in a sand heap containing a Sub Machine Gun fitted with a magazine containing seven rounds of 9mm ammunition were found.
PC Holder seized and took possession of the items and is continuing further enquiries.
In the Western Division officers arrested one priority offender for outstanding warrants during exercises.
The officers visited several areas within the division, ensuring that residents felt the blanket of security during the season.
Exercises will continue across all 10 policing division as we work to make every place in Trinidad and Tobago safe.
