Cunupia residents staged a fiery protest this morning over the poor condition of the roads.
From as early as 6 am, the residents piled up tires and blocked access to travellers leaving communities along the Southern Main Road who use this road to get to the Uriah Butler Highway.
Chaguanas West MP Dinesh Rambally said there are a plethora of roads in the community that need urgent repairs including Ajodha Road, Ramsaran Trace, Bejucal Road, Moore Trace, Ramlal Trace, Alligator Trace and Alligator Village.
Rambally said the protest for road conditions in his constituency and across T&T would escalate.
He said the residents plan to demonstrate in front of the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation if there isn’t swift action to undertake repairs.
