Newly installed Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly , Ancil Dennis is ready to start working for a better Tobago. in an exclusive interview with Power 102 FM, he said his first property however is ensuring that Tobago gets through the COVID-19 pandemic safely.
He said he expects there may be some changes on the executive but stopped short of identifying specific changes ,saying it would be premature before consulting with the team.He also said the plan over the next few months is to be as accessible as possible to the people of Tobago. He said given the economic challenges caused by the pandemic , while he does not want to preempt the government’s announcements regarding the reopening of borders, he hopes that at least domestic tourism can be restarted, as well as the opportunity to look at how to improve the Tobago tourism product and other services on the island:
He also said to support businesses that have been hit hard by the effects of pandemic restrictions, a business development plan has been launched:
He joined the Assembly January 2013, and at 33 years old, is the youngest person ever to hold the position of Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly.
