The plan to impose a vaccination mandate on public servants is illegal.
So says President of the Joint Trade Union Movement, Ancel Roget.
His comments come following a claim by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley at the weekend that public servants will face being furloughed if they are not vaccinated within the coming weeks.
Speaking this morning during a virtual press briefing, Mr Roget maintained that the rights of individuals to remain unvaccinated should be respected.
Mr Roget emphasized that the issue was never discussed with the trade union movement accused the Government of adopting a highhanded and unilateral approach to the issue.
He added that the Prime Minister’s comments on the matter will undoubtedly have wider far reaching consequences.
He labeled Dr Rowley’s actions as dictatorial and disrespectful as he accused him of taking advantage of vulnerable persons.
