An additional $400M will be needed to assist businesses and citizens affected by the impact of COVID-19

Finance Minister, Colm Imbert, says it will cost the state an additional four hundred million dollars as it takes various steps to help businesses and individuals adversely affected by the impact of COVID-19.

Minister Imbert says the funding will cover the period up to the end of July.

He said the expenditure was aimed at helping the poor and vulnerable, protecting businesses, jobs and incomes, maintaining financial resilience, and sustaining economic activity.

Delivering the Mid-Year Budget Review in the parliament this afternoon, Minister Imbert gave an extensive break down of the assistance already given by the government in a variety of areas.
