A quantity of ammunition was discovered by officers of the Eastern Division during an anti-crime exercise conducted in Rio Claro yesterday.
The exercise, conducted between 3 pm and 7 pm, on Friday 17th September, 2021, included officers of the Rio Claro Criminal Investigations Department, Task Force, Charge Room and Municipal Police.
During the exercise, officers executed a search warrant at the Ecclesville, Rio Claro home of a 30-year-old man. The search resulted in officers finding 26 live and two spent 16 gauge cartridges in a small paint bucket in some bushes, 150 feet behind the house. Investigations are ongoing.
Officers also arrested a 56-year-old man of the area in connection with a wounding offence.
