American Chamber says gov’t should seek international help as concerns grow around the FSO Nabarima

President of the American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad and Tobago, Patricia Ghany, says the government should consider seeking international help as environmental concerns continue surrounding the oil tanker FSO Nabarima.

The senior business official made the comment while addressing today’s 24th annual virtual Health, Safety, Security and Environment conference and exhibition.

The Fishermen and Friends of the Sea says there is an ecological disaster looming because of the vessel which reportedly contains 1.3 million barrels of crude oil off Venezuela’s coast in the Gulf of Paria.

Ms Ghany highlighted the matter today.

Ms Ghany also urged employees not to take for granted health and safety training for their relevant staff members.
