Ameen says regional corporations starved for funding and slams PM for recent criticism

St Augustine MP Khadijah Ameen has chided the Prime Minister for his recent criticism of regional corporations and for singling out the Diego Martin Regional Corporation.

She said he and his Government, continuously ignored the pleas from the Opposition, members of the public and Local Government officials to address the same challenges of a lack of resources and funding for Regional Corporations.

In a press release, Ameen said “she hopes the Prime Minister will take meaningful remedial action across all Local Government bodies now that it hit home.”

Ameen asked the Prime Minister to “spare a thought for areas such as Mandingo Road (Princes Town), Skinner Trace (Fyzabad) and Claxton Bay where homes have been ravaged by landslides and Regional Corporations are starved for funding.”
