St Augustine MP Khadijah Ameen is reportedly assisting police following an incident on Sunday, where the MP was allegedly hit and held against her will by a man known to her.
A police report stated that at around 2:22pm yesterday, PC Singh of the Valencia Police Station was stopped while on mobile patrol and was told that Ameen was being held against her will somewhere in Macoya Extension, Tunapuna.
PC Singh contacted another officer, and this then led to an operation being launched by the Northern Division.
Around 2:35pm, officers from the North Central Division Task Force stopped a black Toyota Rav 4 driven by Ameen.
The police report did not say where her vehicle was stopped.
The MP was assessed and found to be safe. She was then escorted to the Tunapuna Police Station where she gave further information.
The MP later wrote on social media that she was ‘OK’.
