United States Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, Candace Bond, will deliver remarks at the closing of the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative Technical Working Group Meeting on Preventing Illicit Trafficking of Firearms on Thursday.
The three-day event focused on several priorities for the United States and the Region.
These include encouraging further implementation of the Caribbean Priority Actions on Firearms Trafficking Action Plan, reviewing the status of new efforts to assist CARICOM and the Dominican Republic on illicit trafficking in firearms.
Strengthening cooperation among Caribbean states and international partners by conducting information and intelligence cooperation, and coordinating regional and international support for the CARICOM Crime Gun Intelligence Unit is also on the agenda.
