Alcohol and tobacco seized in Central Market

A large quantity of alcohol and tobacco was seized by officers of the Port of Spain City Police in the Central Market on Tuesday morning.

A team of officers acting on information received, went to the market at around 11 am and found crates of alcohol and raw tobacco.

A total of 25 cases of alcohol and a large quantity of raw tobacco were in the crates.

It is believed that the items were brought to Trinidad by Caricom vendors, to be sold locally for a profit.

No one was arrested.
