T&T’s sprint queen Michelle-Lee Ahye has qualified for the semi-final of the Women’s 100-metres event at the Tokyo Olympics.
Running out of lane 6 in heat number 7, just after midnight last night, Ahye clocked in a time of 11.06 seconds ahead of Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson in 11.07.
The top three qualified for the semi-final.
Earlier, fellow T&T female 100 metre sprinter Kelly-Ann Baptiste ran in heat number 2, but finished 6th in a time of 11.48 seconds.
That race was won by Elaine Thompson-Herah of Jamaica in 10.82.
