AG declines request for full disclosure from LATT in Nelson fiasco

Attorney General Reginald Armour has declined a request from the Law Association of T&T (LATT) for disclosure in relation to the collapse of the corruption case against former attorney general Anand Ramlogan and attorney Gerald Ramdeen.

The request was made by the LATT in a press release on Friday.

This followed a marathon meeting of its executive council to discuss the controversial issue the previous day.

Armour responded in a letter sent to LATT president Sophia Chote, SC, on Sunday.

In the correspondence, Armour said he was surprised by the call for disclosure, as the association was aware his office was currently defending a lawsuit from the State’s main witness against the duo, Jamaican King’s Counsel Vincent Nelson, over the alleged breach of an indemnity agreement between him (Nelson) and former AG Faris Al-Rawi.
