The THA Division of Infrastructure, Quarries and Urban Development (DIQUD) has advised that access to Top Hill, Pembroke in Tobago will be restricted for one week.
This follows the “failure” of a significant portion of the road on Monday.
The Division said while carrying out excavation works for a retaining wall, major movements of the soil occurred, leading to the undermining of the road at both surface and sub-levels.
The Roxborough District Team found that the soil was oversaturated from excessive flows from a nearby culvert.
The Division has advised motorists to utilise alternative routes and to avoid the area.
