A third school closes over suspected COVID-19 case

Unconfirmed reports suggest a third school has been mandated to close because of a suspected COVID-19 case.

According to a media release issued by the Principal of St. Augustine South Government School, she was contacted by a County Medical Health Officer in St. George East and was told to close the school for sanitization as one of the school’s students may have been exposed to a contact of a positive COVID-19 case.

Izzso Media reached out to the President of National Primary Schools Prinicipals’ Association, Lance Mottley just after 10pm for a comment on the matter.

Mottley said contents of the release and information surrounding the student will be investigated in the morning by the Association.
